What is a Ukrainian-style manicure?
A Ukrainian manicure is a precise, waterless technique performed entirely with an electric file (e-file) instead of cutting tools. Your nails are shaped, the cuticle area is gently and thoroughly cleaned, and the nail plate is prepared so gel polish adheres perfectly — which is why the result stays flawless for weeks, not days. It's meticulous, safe, and far more detailed than a classic salon manicure. Visit Ukrainian manicure page for details.
What's the difference between a Russian manicure and a Ukrainian manicure?
They're two names for the same professional technique: a dry, e-file manicure with detailed cuticle work and long-lasting results. The method originated in Eastern Europe and is known as "Russian manicure," "Ukrainian manicure," or "dry manicure", or "e-file manicure" depending on who you ask. At KRASUNYA, Violetta is originally from Ukraine - trained there, and performs the authentic technique. So if you've been searching for a Russian manicure near Beaverton or Hillsboro, this is it. Visit our Ukrainian manicure page for details.
What is a waterless pedicure, and is it safe?
A waterless (dry) pedicure skips the foot soak entirely. Instead, we use professional-grade KART Cosmetics to soften calluses and remove dead skin gently and precisely. No soaking means no shared water, which dramatically reduces the risk of bacterial or fungal exposure and the products absorb better. So results last longer. It's not only safe, it's the more hygienic choice. Visit our waterless pedicure page for details.
Is an e-file manicure safe for my natural nails?
Yes, in trained hands, an e-file is gentler than cutting tools. Violetta is a licensed, professionally trained technician who works with precision, so there's no damage to the nail plate or skin. Many clients find their natural nails become healthier and stronger over time, because nothing is cut, torn, or over-filed. Visit our Google Maps page to read real customer reviews.
How do you sterilize your tools?
Hygiene is non-negotiable at KRASUNYA. Every client is served with individually packaged, fully sterilized instruments, opened in front of you. All reusable tools go through professional cleaning with Barbicide disinfectant and sterilization with high temperature in autoclave. The workspace is disinfected between clients. You'll never share tools, files, or buffers with anyone.
Do you offer services for men?
Absolutely. Clean, well-groomed nails aren't just for women. We offer men's manicures and waterless pedicures. No polish required, just neat nails, healthy cuticles, and smooth skin. Our male clients come for the dry pedicure as well, which is excellent for cracked heels and hard calluses. Visit our services & prices page for details.
Is it safe during pregnancy or for people with diabetes?
Our technique is waterless and involves no soaking and no cutting, which keeps the risk of irritation or micro-injury minimal. The KART Cosmetics products we use for pedicures are formulated with plant extracts, fruit enzymes, and essential oils. Please keep in mind that during pregnancy or nursing, hormonal changes can make nails softer, so gel polish may not last as long as usual. If you have diabetes, are pregnant, or have any individual health concerns, we recommend checking with your health care provider before booking.
How do I book an appointment?
The easiest way is to book online. You'll see real-time availability and can pick the time that works for you. If you can't find an open spot, join our waitlist and we'll reach out as soon as something opens up. We recommend scheduling in advance, as our appointments fill up quickly. Visit booking page to schedule an appointment.
Do you accept walk-ins?
We're an appointment-only salon. Each visit is a private, one-on-one session, so we can't accommodate walk-ins, but booking online takes less than a minute, and our waitlist often opens up last-minute spots. Visit booking page to schedule an appointment.
Do you require a deposit or credit card to book?
A valid credit card is required to hold your appointment. You won't be charged when booking. The card is only used in accordance with our cancellation policy. Visit our Terms of service page for details.
What if I need to reschedule or cancel my appointment?
Life happens. Just let us know as early as you can. Appointments can be rescheduled or canceled free of charge up to 48 hours before your visit. Cancellations after that window, or no-shows, may be subject to a fee as described in our Terms of Service:
● Late Cancellation (less than 48 hours’ notice): 50% of the service cost will be charged to the credit card on file.
● No-Show: 100% of the service cost will be charged to the credit card on file.
● Rescheduling: Your first reschedule is complimentary. A second reschedule requires a 100% deposit of the service cost to secure the new appointment time.
The fastest way to make changes is through your booking confirmation link.
What if I'm running late?
Please text or call us as soon as you know. We'll always do our best to accommodate you, but because each appointment is reserved exclusively for you, arriving more than 15 minutes late may mean we need to shorten your service or reschedule it, and late-arrival fees may apply per our Terms of service.

What should I expect at my first visit?
Time that's entirely yours. Your appointment is a private, one-on-one session lasting about 1–2 hours, depending on the service. Settle in, choose a movie or bring a book, enjoy a complimentary drink, and relax while we take care of your nails. If it's your first e-file manicure, we'll walk you through every step. Just come as you are, no preparation needed. One thing to remember: if you currently have gel polish on your nails from another salon, please add the "Gel Removal" service when booking, so we can reserve enough time for your appointment.
How long do the results last?
A gel manicure at KRASUNYA typically stays flawless and chip-free for up to 4 weeks, and the waterless pedicure keeps feet smooth for 1–2 months for many clients. Exact wear time depends on your nail type and lifestyle, but if you're used to touch-ups every week, prepare to be pleasantly surprised. Don't take our word for it: see what our clients say on Google. Visit Google for reviews.
What aftercare should I follow to keep my nails perfect?
Very little - that's the point. To get the longest wear:
● Use cuticle oil daily to keep the skin nourished.● Wear gloves for cleaning, gardening, or long contact with harsh chemicals.● Don't use your nails as tools (opening cans, peeling stickers).● Don't pick or peel the gel. If something lifts, come see us instead.● Moisturize your hands regularly, especially in winter.
What if I break a nail?
Contact us right away, we'll get you in for a repair as soon as possible. At Krasunya, we offer free gel nail repairs within 7 days of your original appointment.
Can you remove gel polish applied at another salon?
Yes, of course. Removal isn't included in the base service price, simply add the "Gel Removal" service when booking your appointment, and we'll take the old gel off safely with an e-file, never by soaking or peeling, so your natural nails stay healthy. Please note: We do not remove dip powder. Visit our services&prices page for details.
Can I bring my own nail polish?
We work exclusively with our own professional product systems. It's how we can guarantee that your manicure lasts for weeks without chipping. Our collection includes a wide range of colors, chrome, and French designs, so you'll almost certainly find your shade.
How much do your services cost, and how long do appointments take?
All prices are listed openly on our Services & Prices page. What you see is what you pay, with no hidden fees. Most manicures take about 2 hours; services with hard gel or extensions take around 2.5 hours; a men's manicure is about 45 minutes. Visit our services&prices page for details.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept cash, credit/debit cards, Zelle, Google Pay, Apple Pay with no additional processing fees. Please note, we do not accept checks or money orders. Tips are always welcome but never expected.
